Children’s run

Children’s run will take place in three different age groups and they are for free! Children until the age of 6 (included) ~250m, ages 7-10 (included) ~500m and children up to age 14 (included) ~500m. The registration for children’s run opens at 10 AM in the event center.

There will not be an awarding ceremony for kids, everyone will receive a medal and a sweet treat. The number is a sticker but it can also be attached with safety pins. Children’s feet and hands may get dirty on the course, but all obstacles are safe and take children’s age into consideration. We kindly ask parents not to run on the course with children (only if it’s really necessary) so children could get a great experience all by themselves!

Before the start

Starting materials will be given to you at the event center. You will also receive Heroes Obstacle Race T-shirt, if you ordered one.
To receive your materials faster, we recommend you to check your starting number from the starting protocol (from our website or info board) and tell it to the person who hands out materials!

You will receive a number vest and a chip for timing. It is obligatory to wear the number on top of your clothes during the whole race. Please return the number vest and timing chip after the race!

On-site registration for the race is possible until 12:00! In the last registration phase, changes can only be made by contacting the organizer (sekretariaat@seiklushunt.ee).

On the race day and the day before (Saturday-Sunday), the fee for changes (re-registration, distance change, start group change) is 5€ + any difference in participation fees, if applicable. Changes can be made until 12:00 on the race day!

Registration for children’s races and the distribution of race numbers will also take place at the secretariat tent.

Distances and courses

The length of the main course is approximately 8 km. There are natural and built obstacles on the course.

The distance of the short course is approximately 4,5 km. The course is marked with arrows, ribbon and referees.

To maintain obstacles in good health, it’s forbidden to use shoes with spikes.

Obstacles

Some of the obstacles may be difficult (i.e plank walls) especially for women and shorter people. That is why we call up participants to help your co-participants and if needed, ask for help!

If you can not pass the obstacle you need to do burpees or push-ups. There are also obstacles in the water and water may be over your head. If you do not feel comfortable doing it then you can choose to do burpees/push-ups instead. Some of the obstacles have fast and slow course. Fast course is tougher yet shorter. Slow course is easier to pass, but it may take more time or there will be an extra obstacle (i.e crawling). We really recommend to at least try the obstacle before choosing the alternative way. The course is tough. In order to maintain good feeling and to enjoy the race, we recommend to start out slowly! If there is a queue or you can not pass a participant on a narrow way, please remain calm and polite. Ask the way nicely when it is possible to pass.

Safety

All participants take part on their own risk! Obstacles are built so that they would be challenging yet safe for the participants. There is medical service in the race centre, who will help you in case of injuries.

Start and finish

Start takes place in different groups, approximately 75 people in one group.

Starting groups are formed taking former race results into consideration. Organizers place stronger runners in the first group. If there is any problems or questions about the starting group please write sekretariaat@seiklushunt.ee. Changing the starting group on Friday-Saturday is only possible for an additional fee (5€). The Estonian Championship and Baltic League competitors start from a separate starting group but their time is also counted in the general calculation!

At the finish everyone will receive a medal and Värska water.

Showers and catering

After the race, washing facilities will be available in the wrestling house (a small blue building right next to the competition center) and in the sports hall. There are also toilets in these buildings in addition to the outdoor toilets. All participants using the showers after the race are required to rinse themselves off first under the hoses located on the side of the large sports hall, as the plumbing can easily become clogged! Additionally, we ask everyone to remove their dirty shoes and socks before entering the building.

Catering will take place in the large blue catering tent at the competition center. Meals will be served in reusable dishes. Please return the dishes to the bins after use! The food options include hot wok and meat-free pilaf.

Luggage storage

Car keys, bags and other personal stuff can be left at the luggage storage which is in the event centre.

First aid

There is medical service in the race centre, who will help in case of injuries.

Additional info

There will be a commercial area at the competition center this time!

Present will be the Gymnastics Club Akros, which will set up a fun obstacle course at the competition center, and even adults can test themselves.

Team scoring

In addition to individual scoring, there is also team scoring. Team can consist of up to 5 people, minimum is 3. Team’s three fastest times are summed up and according to the grand total we award the first three teams. Register your team here!

It is also possible to register your team on-site until 12.00 AM!

Awarding

The organizers will award the top three participants in each competition class but reserve the right to reduce the number of awardees if there are not enough participants in a class. A participant can compete in every class for which they meet the conditions. This means that participants in the NJ, MJ, and N45+, M45+ classes can also reach the podium in the main class.

In the interest of fair play and competition clarity, the winners (podium finishers) will only be determined from participants who started in the 1st start group! This clause does not apply to the team competition!

The organizers will award the top three participants in each competition class. Runners competing in the EMV standings will also compete in the Lähte Vägilase race standings!

In the series standings, the top 3 men and women in the main and short races, and only the winner in age categories, will be awarded!

Prizes are provided by Spordipood Duncan.ee, Värska Originaal, HoneyPower, Mayeri, and Iconfit.
