Botaanikaaed

1806. aastast asub Emajõe kaldapealsel Tartu Ülikooli botaanikaaed. Selle vahelduv maastikureljeef on tingitud linna keskaegsetest ja ka hilisematest kaitserajatistest, mille peale aed on rajatud.

Botanical garden 

The University of Tartu Botanical Garden has been located on the bank of the river Emajõgi since 1806. Its varied landscape relief is due to the city’s medieval and later fortifications, upon which the garden was established.
